Anyone else suffering from a case of summer burnout? Every year without fail, the few weeks between summer and fall can feel like an awkward fashion rut. With New York Fashion Week right around the corner, and the weather not quite cool, yet not quite hot, I’m always left feeling like I have absolutely NOTHING to wear.
Sound familiar? Transitional dressing, especially from summer to fall can be tricky. Suddenly, the go-to summer dresses I’ve been living in all season long, don’t feel quite right. I always find myself craving something a bit more elevated.
So what’s my solution to this year’s dreaded, pre-fall fashion rut? Flowing, feminine, burnout silk dresses. The mix of lightweight sheer silk, and touches of soft velvet, make burnout silk dresses perfect for transitional dressing. One part bohemian, one part luxe, they are exactly the vibe I want to channel as I prep for fall, and will help me ease seamlessly into this fall’s bold head-to-toe velvet trend. (More on that later!)
HAUTE Styling Tip: Pair your burnout silk dresses with your summer sandals, a berry red lip, and delicate gold jewelry, for a fresh, elegant feel. Once the weather cools down, top burnout silk pieces with a blazer, chunky sweater, or hat, for an effortlessly chic autumn look.
Are you loving burnout silk pieces as much as I am? What are your go-to’s this time of year?
